Antiques Appraisal Day Ever wonder how much an item is worth? Could it be a valuable antique? Thomas Schwenke and colleagues from Woodbury Auctions LLC will be at Noble Horizons on Saturday, September 25 for two exciting antiques events. The day will begin with a fast-paced and entertaining "Show and Tell" session from 10 am to noon when the appraisers will discuss antiques and give public appraisals of items. Also beginning at 10 am and running through 3 pm private appraisals will be conducted. Objects of all types--porcelain, pottery, toys, dolls, silver, paintings, furniture and rugs--may be brought for appraisal. The only exceptions are coins, stamps, jewelry and musical instruments. For services of china or silver, one example of each piece in a set is acceptable. For fragile or very large items, a good quality photo may be submitted. The appraiser will discuss the issues of age and condition and provide an estimated value based on current market prices. Those wishing to have their heirlooms appraised in the morning session are limited to one item per person for a fee of $10. Those preferring to have a private appraisal may bring one object for $10 or three for $25. To reserve your place for the "Show and Tell" session and for individual scheduled appraisals, please call Noble Horizons at 860-435-9851 Ext. 170. The event is sponsored by the Noble Horizons Auxiliary, with all proceeds going toward the auxiliary's many projects to enhance the lives of Noble residents. |
