Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging Presents: Medicare Patrol Training Program Horizons

Are you a little hazy about all the different programs offered by Medicare? Have you ever puzzled over all that information in your Medicare Summary Notice? Are you concerned by the kinds of scams and rip-offs that are directed at seniors like you? Would you like to acquire the sort of know-how you can use to defend yourself and assist your friends and neighbors in protecting themselves against Medicare and consumer fraud?

Billions of federal dollars are lost annually due to health care fraud, error and abuse. In an effort to address this problem, The United States Department of Health and Human Services' Administration on Aging funds Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Training Programs in all 50 states to recruit and train seniors to recognize and report health care fraud. The Western Connecticut Area on Aging is hosting a FREE Senior Medicare Patrol Training at Noble Horizons on March 13, from 9:00am-1:00 pm. A light breakfast and lunch will be served.

Participants will learn how fraudulent schemes threaten financial independence and health status, and how to identify, prevent and report health care fraud, thus protecting themselves and others from the economic and health-related consequences of Medicare and Medicaid fraud, error and abuse. Please call Eric Freedman at the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging (203-757-5449) to register or for more information. You may also register for this program on this page using the online form.
